Museum of Ventura County - 805-653-0323

One of the oldest museums in California and dating back to 1913, the Museum of Ventura County holds over 200 historical figures of primary personalities from European, American and Asian history. Though many of these groups are on display at all times, they continuously change over periods of time. The Museum of Ventura County contains a considerable collection of photographs, publications, historical and prehistorical articles and documents. While at the museum, you might want to visit the gift shop which offers a wide array of books, handicrafts, jewelry and postcards. New permanent exhibit of "Ventura County in the New West", George Stuart historical figures, rotating exhibits of art and history, research library, farm implements.
